Video game helps with fire drill

Published by Chris under News

From news.bbc.co.uk (via slashdot.org):

firealarm Researchers at Durham University have modified a video game and turned it into a fire drill simulator.

The team used The Source Engine, the 3D game engine used to drive Half-Life 2, and created a virtual model of one of the university’s departments.

Developers plan to use it to examine people’s behaviour in a fire and to train people in good fire practice.

Ski Home Simulator

Published by Chris under News

From random-good-stuff.com:

sexy-ski-dude Unless this simulator is not having wipe out feature and throws you off the skis I’d prefer the real thing because there is nothing more fun than having couple of broken legs. Just kidding!

This is probably the closest thing you can get as far as sky simulators can go.

Hmm .. Wii Board, I think it’s time for an upgrade.
