The center, called The Virtual Edge, will be on the balcony overlooking the gymnasium. It will feature video fitness equipment and sports games designed to encourage healthy lifestyles and physical fitness in local youth, Seamon said.
The grant was presented to the agency by Lowe’s company officials last week.

“The Virtual Edge will be a state-of-the-art video fitness center where youth can work out while mimicking video arcade games, such as riding dirt bikes, skateboarding, dancing, boxing and other activities,” Seamon said. “The system will feature big-screen televisions, flashing lights and actual equipment that simulates arcade games, while targeting muscle groups vital to healthy growth and overall fitness of young adults.”

Judging by one of the videos shown during its recent presentation in Japan, the trademarked device will be tied (at least initially) to a Nintendo DS fitness title.”

Nintendo Canada And Ubi Soft Montreal Showcase 17 Lifestyle And Fitness Games

Published by Chris under News

From krisabel.ctv.ca:

“The success of Brain Age games and Wii Fit has proven so effective in establishing new trends in video games that Nintendo, along with partner Ubi Soft Montreal, were able to fill a spa this week with demonstrations of seventeen titles in the life coach and fitness genres including a new cooking guide, a stop smoking coach, two new yoga trainers, language instructors for Chinese and Japanese, and a Pilates guide. In previewing them, I found myself surrounded by female reporters, the only man in the tour, and suddenly recruited for a Yoga lesson. To make up for the tree poses and breathing exercises, I was given a rather butch tattoo on my forearm, so I still left the spa with my dignity intact.”
